Keith Motors: 58 Years of Serving the Local Community

Keith Motors the ‘Family’ business was formed in 1951 by Mr Charles Keith and here we are 58 years later still serving the local community with their motoring requirements. As you would appreciate 58 years is a considerable time and massive changes have taken place in that time regarding staffing and technology. Our site (Previously owned by Ted Gibson of Gibson Sports Cars) has grown and grown over time and we are now the proud owners of a Dealership which is the envy of many and is everything you would expect from a business which has managed to retain its ‘Family’ identity as well as keeping pace with the modern and technical demands of a franchised motor dealership.

Mr Richard Keith

Richard Keith still heads up the operation albeit in a reduced capacity but he is ably assisted by his son Robert and Dealer Principal Robin Webb. In maintaining the ‘Family’ connection Richard’s daughter, Tara, and Son-in-Law, Justin, both play key roles as well. So whilst Keith Motors like to be referred to as a professional outfit there is no replacement for a family run business that have traditional values when it comes to customer service.

Having been a Ford Dealer since 1980 we are pleased to state that the experience we have gained over the past 29 years has enabled us to ensure we are able to undertake complex and difficult mechanical repairs as well as offering sound unbiased advice when it comes to buying a new or used vehicle.

Unlike many other franchised dealerships we are able to offer a range of ‘Reasonably priced’ vehicles varying from £2,000 to £10,000 via Manor Road Motors who operate from our Head Office site at Lyndhurst Road. So, in these challenging times please be comforted that we are aware of people’s needs and therefore offer vehicles of all size and price ranges.

Putting our business to one side for a moment, we are proud to play our part in the local community by having 2 members of our staff who work for the Mudeford Lifeboat Team and therefore offer their services 24 hours a day as and when the emergency services at sea are required. We also offer sponsorship to the local Football junior league regarding their fixture lists etc, Equi-fun who assist disabled children to experience the joys of horse riding, The Annual Dorset Charity Horse & Dog Show Wimborne who raise money for the Dorset air-ambulance. In addition to the things already mentioned we also support the Twynham School regarding their Motor Vehicle Training Group and Christchurch Infants School where we regularly assist with funding their Summer Fair. We don’t take the view that we ‘Have’ to help the local community we are simply proud to do so and even in these testing times you should never forget those who are less fortunate than yourself.

To conclude, whilst customer satisfaction is key to our on-going success we will never take for granted the people who work for us and we are proud of every single one of them. Team work is key and we are confident that our staff are at their happiest when they deliver a service of the highest quality to our customers.
