The Ford S-MAX is now available with a new FHEV (Fully Hybrid Electric Vehicle) powertrain. This 2.5-litre petrol engine hybrid system delivers 190PS and 200Nm of torque – exceptional figures for a hybrid. Its equally impressive towing capacity of up to 1750 kg lets you take anything from a jet ski to a small caravan on your travels. As you’d expect, the engine is also fuel-efficient, and has a reduced fuel emissions. There’s no need for plug-in charging, and the battery is nested under the boot floor, so you don’t lose any luggage space.

Alongside its flexible design, the Ford S-MAX has loads of technologies to help you with virtually every aspect of driving. For example, the rear-view camera and the Blind Spot Information System give you effortless control, while on the road PowerShift, EcoBoost and the enhanced suspension provide more power, a smother ride and require less fuel.

ESP Monitors the Conditions to Keep You In Control

For peace of mind, The Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) with Traction Control and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) constantly monitors your vehicle’s progress. It senses any deviations from your chosen driving line (for example, if you start to skid) and automatically corrects your road position, helping you keep control of the car. This technology also helps reduce stopping distances in an emergency.

Easier Reversing With a Rear-View Camera

Bollards, low walls, kids playing… the rear-view camera shows whatever’s behind you on a screen built into the display on your dashboard. As well as showing you things you might not see, it helps you park, by displaying virtual lines to guide you into the smallest space. For added convenience, the rear-view camera activates automatically when you select reverse gear. The rear-view camera is standard with the Touchscreen Navigation PLUS system with DAB Audio.
